Los agricultores griegos de la península del Peloponeso han empezado a vender sus productos así: del campo, al camión y del camión a un barrio hambriento a las afueras de Atenas.
Venta directa sin intermediarios. Sobre todo patatas y aceite. Aunque ahora, también lo quieren hacer con el cordero.
“No hay dinero, así que la gente trata de ahorrar de donde sea. Es una gran iniciativa de las autoridades locales para defender al pueblo”, asegura un ciudadano.
“Es la primera vez que hacemos esto”, dice el alcalde del pueblo donde se ha gestado esta iniciativa, “hemos tenido algunos problemas de organización pero hemos cubierto más de 3000 pedidos.”
El litro de aceite aquí cuesta tres euros. El kilo de patatas, 28 céntimos de euro. En el supermercado, más del doble, por eso están repletos de productos extranjeros que paradójicamente son más baratos.
Con la venta directa, los agricultores duplican ingresos, los consumidores ahorran un 50% y el dinero se queda en casa.
