Door een lek in een tank bij aardappelzetmeelconcern Avebe in Gasselternijveen (Drenthe) is een nog onbekende hoeveelheid azijnzuur vrijgekomen. Dat meldt de politie.
Bij het ongeval raakten geen mensen gewond. De oorzaak van de lekkage is nog niet bekend. Ook is niet duidelijk of de fabrieksruimte moet worden ontruimd en of er maatregelen moeten worden genomen voor de naaste omgeving. Het zuur wordt opgevangen in lekbakken op het terrein.
