Pakistani potato growers suffer losses on export halt, lack of subsidies

Pakistani potato growers and farmers have been suffering colossal financial losses in the face of halt to export and lack of subsidies by the government to help them overcome their miseries.
On account of halt to export activities, huge quantity of potato, which is around 600,000 to 700,000 tonnes is lying dormant either in the warehouses of farmers or in the field without any proper safety in the traditional growing areas of the country.
