How about standing eye-to-eye with the largest Hex Polisher? Curious about the very latest design in the field of clay and salt-bath technology? In that case, why not visit the open days this coming 10 and 11 May being held by Tummers Methodic at Hoogerheide (The Netherlands)? Anyone looking for the most cutting-edge total solutions in the world of food processing will be in seventh heaven.

Innovation

Innovation has been of paramount importance at Tummers Methodic for some 35 years now. Not a year goes by without the industrial machinery manufacturer for food processing adding another series of well considered techniques to the product range. All of these will be right in the spotlight on the open days. One of the most eye-catching of designs to be proudly presented by Tummers Methodic is the Drum Polisher TP-1650x3750T.

The type classification indicates in itself that this is fully fledged polishing machine. It is the most superior of machines for polishing up tuberiform and spherical food products. Owing to its drum length of 3.75 metres and a diameter of 1.65 metres, the TP-1650x3750T can manage a cleaning capacity of as much as 35 tons an hour. As a result, it is the largest hexagonal drum with washing brushes in its class.

Improved mixing in Tummers salt-bath product separator KB-450

Yet another new well-considered design by Tummers Methodic concerns a new clay or salt-bath product separator. This relates to the KB-450. The machine is perfectly suited to separating floating and non-floating parts in tuberiform and spherical food products in mixtures of clay or salt and water.

Thanks to a controlled difference in upward force, the lighter parts in the stream of products remain afloat while elements that are too heavy sink down. An ingenious adaptation to the construction of the bath is now responsible for improving the mixture of water with clay or salt. For a product such as potatoes, this makes it possible for an even more precise separation of the glass tubers in a harvested batch from the tubers with the desired submerged weight.

Machines with proven reliability

Apart from these sensational new developments, the open days will also include displays of Tummers Methodic machines that have had a proven record of reliability for many years. One such example is the KW 450 T 1300x4800. This de-stoner and drum washer for tuberiform and spherical food products is notable in daily use for its sturdy construction.

The KW 450 is a frequently purchased machine highly valued from all quarters with a capacity of 45 tons of product per hour. In addition, both smaller-scale and large models from the KW series can be supplied with diverse capacities ranging from 5 to 150 tons an hour.

Also on display at Tummers Methodic is the ZZ-0600 Dry Brushing Machine. Praise from the sector for this machine with its patented brushing technique owes itself in part to its particularly high output. This also holds true for a machine such as the Starch Drum with a capacity of as much as 700 kilograms an hour. It is equipped with the renowned quick-release cutting system.

This makes it possible to replace the cutting blade during operation. Other favourites from Tummers Methodic are the product pumps with S-impellers. All of the sizes supplied can be viewed during the open days. The pumps are chiefly notable for their revolutionary cast S-impeller: a unique design which ensures that the product undergoes the least possible damage, if any, when in the stream of water.

Live demonstrations

All of the innovations on display show how Tummers Methodic has been constantly moving forwards over the past 35 years. During the open days, the manufacturer will also be taking up this theme. In the demonstrations, for example, visitors will be able to familiarise themselves live with the manufacturer’s unique water cutting equipment. This will make it clear just how powerful and razor sharp the Tummers Methodic machines are able to cut products such as chips, wedges, wafers and much more besides.

What is also of interest to witness for once in real life is the full production process of the TM cutting blocks and the production method for all the necessary sheet-metal work concerning Tummers Methodic machines in the special department for sheet-metal working, sister company Tummers Plaatbewerking

Open door at new office premises

Not only are Tummers Methodic products undergoing new developments, but also the company itself. On 10 and 11 May, the manufacturer will be opening its doors to the new office, reception and conference rooms. All visitors will receive a warm welcome with all their needs catered for.
