The Frito-Lay Canada chip plant in Kentville, Nova Scotia, celebrated its diamond anniversary this week.

The plant makes seven brands of snack food that are sold in Atlantic Canada, Ontario, Quebec and New England.

Each year 70 million pounds of potatoes come into the plant and washed, peeled, sliced and cooked. Out comes 75 million bags of potato chips.

The Kentville plant is the smallest of six Frito-Lay production facilities in Canada.
