McCain Foods brings 'Chips' sweater to retail in time for Chip Week
According to the Grocer, McCain Foods GB has partnered with clothing chain Primark, to make a "Chips" marked sweater available for French Fry fans in the United Kingdom
Primark will sell the sweater (referred to as jumper in the United Kingdom) in 45 of its stores for GBP 12.
The "Chips" sweaters will be available in time for Chip Week, February 17 - 23. McCain backs the retail launch by a 650.000 GBP ad campaign.
The retail launch of the sweater follows a Facebook competition giving participants a chance to win one of 50 "Chips" sweaters.
“By taking McCain beyond the freezer we’re making it highly visible and enabling consumers to engage with the brand in a different way,” according to McCain Foods marketing director Mark Hodge.
The Chips sweater was shown earlier in the "Chips for Tea" commercial of McCain Foods GB.
