How Agristo have kept Brexit impact to a minimum

How Belgium based frozen potato manufacturer Agristo has kept Brexit impact to a minimum

June 30, 2023
Agristo is now a good 2 years into the finalization of Brexit. The Belgian manufacturer of frozen fries is primarily focused on private label products for retail and has a significant customer base in the United Kingdom.  Looking back on the transition, Agristo can safely say they have done everything to uphold one of its core values, which is to service and unburden their clients in any way possible.

But they’ve also succeeded in minimizing that other important Brexit concern: the fear of supply chain delays. Because at first, we all had our worries that mixing customs into the process would severely slow down import of our potato products into the UK, which is our biggest market.

That’s where Agristo quickly showed its flexibility as they moved to Delivered Duty Paid arrangements with their UK clients, which meant they would take care of all import & export administrative formalities. Making sure that their data was ‘double filing’ compliant, for both export flows from the European Union and import into the United Kingdom.

The big upside to this? Agristo managed to cut the Brexit related custom delays to an absolute minimum as no shipment would come to a halt at the customs offices. In addition, Agristo is an accredited Authorized Economic Operator, issued by the customs administrations in the European Union.

This entails that they’re seen as a reliable partner to customs authorities and enjoy important benefits, such as 24/7 shipment times and less custom checks. So, yes, they can deliver their potato inspired delight when you need it and will keep doing so.
