Muscat Chips marks its entry into Oman’s snack food market with support from TNA Solutions.
TNA Solutions Powers Muscat Chips’ Entry into Oman with New 300kg-per-Hour Potato Chip Production Line

TNA Solutions has partnered with Mohammed Riaz & Partner LLC (MR) to support the company’s entry into Oman’s snack food market through the launch of Muscat Chips and Muscat Chips Crinklz.
As the project’s complete solutions partner, TNA delivered a fully integrated potato chip production line with a capacity of 300 kg per hour, designed to support 24 SKUs and packaging speeds of up to 120 packs per minute.
The greenfield project covers the complete production process, from washing, peeling, slicing, blanching and frying to seasoning, distribution, weighing, metal detection, date coding and packaging.
Beyond supplying the equipment, TNA provided end-to-end project guidance, including line design, layout optimisation, commissioning and operational support, giving MR a single point of accountability throughout the development and launch of the facility.

Fahad Mohammed Riaz, Vice Chairman at Mohammed Riaz & Partner LLC:
"TNA’s full responsibility and accountability for the entire project gave us peace of mind. We are now building on this momentum and planning a second line to support future growth."
From trading company to snack manufacturer
Fahad Mohammed Riaz has led MR’s strategic expansion into the FMCG sector, overseeing the company’s transition from a trading enterprise into a modern industrial business.
The Muscat Chips project represents MR’s first greenfield snack production line and its entry into snack manufacturing. As a first-time snack producer, the company required more than equipment. It sought a partner capable of providing a complete production solution, application expertise, local support and aftermarket capabilities.
Fahad Mohammed Riaz:
"TNA’s consultative and collaborative approach was critical to the execution of the project. The team supported us at every stage, from designing the layout to running the line, enabling a smooth product launch."
TNA manages greenfield project requirements
The development of a new manufacturing facility brought several challenges, including changes to factory layouts and the need to accommodate future expansion while avoiding production bottlenecks and ensuring integration with other operations at the site.
TNA worked closely with MR to optimise the factory layout, utilities and line configuration, with scalability incorporated into the design from the outset.
The production line includes the tna conti-pro PC 3 fryer, tna intelli-flav® OMS 5.1 seasoning system, tna roflo® VM3 vibratory motion distribution systems and the tna robag® 3e vertical form fill and seal system, along with other auxiliary equipment.
The system can produce up to 120 pillow bags per minute for 12g packs, while maintaining consistent production and packaging performance. The line also accommodates multipack formats through a dedicated stack.
Fahad Mohammed Riaz:
"With TNA as our partner, we’ve been able to enter the snack market with confidence."
Flexibility designed around market demand
The new production line was designed to give Muscat Chips flexibility across different pack formats and product variants. This was particularly important as the brand entered a market where established snack brands already have a strong presence.
The line can handle 12g and 65g packs while maintaining high-speed production. Its flexibility also allows MR to manufacture multiple SKUs while maintaining consistent quality and output.
The investment has already resulted in the successful market launch of Muscat Chips and Muscat Chips Crinklz in Oman. The production system supports multiple SKUs and allows the company to maintain consistent quality and production speeds across its product range.
Building on the initial launch, MR has already placed an order for a second potato chip production line, supporting the company’s plans for continued expansion.
Partnership focused on long-term growth
For TNA Solutions, the project involved more than supplying individual pieces of processing and packaging equipment. The company worked alongside MR throughout the development process to understand its growth objectives and build a production system capable of expanding with the business.
Palani Karai, General Manager – MENA at TNA Solutions:
"Supporting Mohammed Riaz & Partner LLC on its entry into the snack market was about more than delivering machinery. We worked side by side to understand their ambitions, design a line that could evolve with the business and share the application know-how needed for a successful launch."
"For us, the real triumph is seeing a new brand like Muscat Chips establish itself on a strong footing in a competitive market and knowing the foundation is already in place for continued growth."
The successful commissioning of the first line and the subsequent order for a second potato chip line mark the next phase of MR’s expansion in snack manufacturing and demonstrate the scalability built into the original greenfield project.
