JB Bernard, operated by Bernard SAS, is a French potato seed producer and breeder based in Gomiécourt, in the Pas-de-Calais region. The company produces and markets conventional and organic potato seed varieties for professional growers, market gardeners and garden retailers. Its activities cover potato variety development, seed production, variety selection and commercial distribution, with products intended for both professional agriculture and the home-gardening market.
For about 90 years, the family-owned firm has been producing in northern France's Artois region. JB Bernard has been working in potato breeding since 2009, starting with the Ulysse variety and expanding through agreements with other breeding and research stations in Europe. In 2020, the company's research activities expanded with the establishment of dedicated facilities at its Gomiécourt location.
