Alfonso Fernández Valera founded the company in El Chaparral, Murcia, in 1965, starting with toasting almonds and eventually expanding into crisps and pig rashers. Patatas Fritas Rubio has grown over the years, and in 2007 it built a new facility in Bullas to satisfy rising demand.
