Covered Bridge Potato Chips Expands in Japan With 12-Container Costco Japan Order

Covered Bridge Potato Chip Company is expanding its presence in Japan after Costco Japan ordered 12 container loads of the Canadian company's potato chips, with eight already shipped as of late September 2026. The latest development increases the scale of Covered Bridge's distribution in Japan following its initial entry into the market earlier this year.

Costco Partnership Expands Following Initial Agreement

Covered Bridge entered the Japanese market in 2026 through an open-ended supply agreement with Costco Japan. The agreement was announced in June during the Team Canada Trade Mission to Japan, when an initial shipment of four containers was en route to the country.

Japan became Covered Bridge's tenth international market through the agreement. The larger Costco order reported in September indicates that shipments have continued beyond the initial delivery.

Covered Bridge Potato Chips Reach Japanese Consumers

Covered Bridge products have since reached the Japanese retail market. Costco Japan lists Covered Bridge Potato Chips Sea Salt Flavor and Sea Salt & Vinegar Flavor, both in 567-gram formats and produced in Canada.

The Sea Salt variety is a thick-cut potato chip made with potatoes, vegetable oil and salt, while the Sea Salt & Vinegar variety combines potatoes and vegetable oil with a vinegar-based seasoning. The Costco Japan listings establish a retail presence for Covered Bridge as the Canadian potato chip producer develops its business in Japan.
