The American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI) today announced the election of Edward R. Flanagan of Jasper Wyman &Son, Inc. to be chairman of the AFFI Board of Directors.
"The American Frozen Food Institute is fortunate to have such a strong leader at the helm,"said AFFI President and CEO Kraig R. Naasz. "Ed Flanagan brings a commitment to our mission and years of experience to AFFI as he takes on the responsibility of board chairman. I look forward to continuing our already close partnership in leading AFFI forward over the next year."
Flanagan was elected chairman at AFFI’s recent annual meeting held during the 2010 American Frozen Food Convention in San Diego. Flanagan most recently served as vice-chairman and has long been an active AFFI member. Flanagan takes over for outgoing chairman A. Ray Walker of Patterson Vegetable Co., LLC and will serve a one-year term as chairman.
The American Frozen Food Institute is the voice of and chief advocate for the frozen food industry,"said Chairman Edward R. Flanagan. "AFFI has long provided companies such as Jasper Wyman &Son with the means by which to collectively address issues impacting the frozen food industry. There hasn’t been an AFFI Chairman from Maine before, so I am very honored to have been elected and look forward to a productive year ahead"
Flanagan serves as President and CEO of Jasper Wyman &Son, a producer and marketer of wild blueberries and other berry fruits. Flanagan joined Wyman’s in 1993 and assumed his current position in 1995.
