De Eurex termijnmarkt te Frankfurt heeft de eerste European Potato Index vastgesteld.
De cash settlementprijs waarop contracten fritesgeschikte aardappelen kunnen worden afgerekend kwam uit op €?3,40 per 100 kilo. In de aardappelmarkt is dit een graadmeter voor het prijsniveau in Noordwest-Europa.
Als gevolg van het relatief vroege aardappelseizoen kwam de eerste EPP-index een week vroeger dan in 2010 en 2009. Vorig jaar was het eerste prijsniveau dat Eurex kon melden €?15,50. In 2009 was het €?7,60.
