Potato Europe 2012

October 01, 2012

Easily the biggest potato event in Europe this year, Potato Europe took place in the middle of this region, close to the village of Villers-Saint-Christophe.

While visitors saw all the latest three and four-row harvesters from Dewulf, Grimme and AVR, the biggest surprise came from a machine which, from the outside at least, looked like a new John Deere creation.

Further probing revealed it was made by French company Pouchain, whose designer is a keen John Deere fan. With a previous history of chicory harvester manufacturing, the company’s first attempt at a potato harvester is called the PDT 12.
