September 15, 2015

This November over 6,000 growers, packers, processors, retailers, researchers, specialists, consultants, journalists, students and international visitors will head to the Harrogate International Centre, for the biennial potato industry event, BP2015.

Taking place 12-13 November, the event is free for registered visitors and by booking in advance (bp2015.co.uk) you’ll gain fast-tracked admission on the day.

AHDB Potatoes chair Fiona Fell:

“BP2015 is the biggest gathering of potato businesses and people in the GB potato calendar.”

“You need to be there for two days of solid interaction, catching up with research, talking to old friends and understanding where your business needs to go next.”
Only once every two years, every business associated with the potato industry is under one roof. It’s an important chance to keep up-to-date, and to meet customers, suppliers and colleagues.

BP2015 gold sponsor Branston is one of the UK’s largest buyers, packers and distributors of potatoes and is looking forward to meeting up with growers on its stand.

James Truscott, Branston’s managing director:

“Branston has been delighted to sponsor BP for several years, and we are very much looking forward to this year’s event.”

“We consider this event to be the most important in the UK potato industry. The increased attendance and content this year will give us an even greater platform to interact with our suppliers and customers from across the UK and overseas. The last two years have seen fresh challenges thrown at the industry and we’ve been working on a range of initiatives. Seeing everyone at Harrogate this November will be an excellent opportunity to showcase some of our recent developments as well as discussing the future direction of GB potatoes.”
Reviewing machinery options, seeing new kit and striking a show deal is an important aspect of the show and for the first time it is indoors.

Long-term event supporter and joint BP2015 gold sponsor Grimme (UK) is the market leader in potato planting harvesting and handling machinery, and they are looking forward to showcasing their equipment at the event.

Barry Baker, Sales Director Grimme:

“Since the last event in Harrogate technology developments have moved on swiftly. Grimme has some state of the art new developments, such as yield mapping and planter section control which allows growers to efficiently place and optimize seed tonnage over the hectarage available.”

“BP2015 is an excellent opportunity for growers and farm managers to see our kit first hand and to come and talk to the team about the best equipment available for your farm size and specific rotation.”
