The Members' Council of Dutch Potato Starch Cooperative Avebe has appointed two new members to its Supervisory Board: Mr Dirk Kloosterboer and Mr Robert Smith.

After completing his studies in Food Technology at Wageningen University, Dirk Kloosterboer gained ample managerial experience during his career at multinationals such as Vion N.V. and Darling Ingredients.

He held positions including member of the Board of Directors at these companies. Darling Ingredients is a global player in sustainable ingredients for food and animal feed, and fuel. Mr Kloosterboer holds several other supervisory board positions, at companies including Bolsius International B.V. and Darling Ingredients.

Since graduating in Business Economics, Robert Smith has held various financial and managerial positions at Royal Cosun.

This is an agricultural-industrial cooperative that was originally a member of the sugar sector cooperative. Robert Smith held the position of Finance and Control Director for a lengthy period and became chairman of the company’s board in 2008.

He is currently a supervisory director at Wageningen University & Research and a member of the board of the HZPC Association.
