Grippo's issues voluntary recall of Bar-B-Q flavored potato chips

October 16, 2022
Grippo Foods Inc., the Cincinnati-based snack food manufacturer, has issued a voluntary recall of some of its Bar-B-Q potato chips, the Ohio Department of Agriculture said.

The recall of the locally popular potato chips applies to those sold in 24 count packs with a use by date of Jan. 16, 2023.

Officials say the product codes fall between:

  • 35 3 1011 20:20 and 35 3 1011 22:00, or
  • 14 3 1012 22:01 and 14 3 1012 02:00

The products included in this recall have the potential to be adulterated because of improper cleaning procedures, also 39 of the 260 boxes produced are unaccounted for. Officials said the products were distributed in the Cincinnati area.

So far, no reports of illness involving the chips have been made. Though anyone who does start to experience symptoms of foodborne illness should contact a physician.

The products can be returned to Grippo's at 6750 Colerain Ave. Customers or suppliers with any questions or concerns can contact the company at +1 513-923-1900 or customerservice@grippos.com.
