From a modest beginning in Quebec, Poutine has become Canada's most identifiable dish. Tourists and heads-of-states alike, no one's Canada visit is ever complete until they've tried a dish of Poutine at a famous restaurant. However, a study shows Montreal and Quebec have some of the most popular poutine restaurants.

They account for 8 out of the top 10 Poutine restaurants. The two other restaurants in the top 10 list are Toronto and Vancouver. The study is based on customer reviews on TripAdvisor. Based on customer reviews, Schwart's in Montreal has 7533 reviews and is considered the most popular restaurant serving Poutine, followed by Modavie (4823 reviews) and Aux Anciens Canadiens (3637 reviews).

Opened in 1928 and still in the original location on Saint Laurent Blvd, Schwartz's serves their very own variation of the national dish, Poutine à la Schwartz's. Price USD 14.50.
