Royal Avebe Boosts 2024 Potato Campaign Price to EUR 115 (USD 129) per Ton
Royal Avebe sets starch potato price for 2024 harvest at EUR 115 per ton of potatoes

Royal Avebe has now processed all the potatoes from the 2024 campaign. The cooperative is closing the cultivation year positively with a higher processing quantity than originally planned. The basic price for the A-volume of EUR 105 (USD 118) per ton of potatoes (including EUR 5 (USD 5.6) member surcharge) is increased by EUR 10 (USD 11.2) per ton. This brings the campaign price to EUR 115 (USD 129) per ton of potatoes. The additional payment of EUR 10 (USD 11.2) per ton will be paid to the members at the beginning of June 2025.
Higher payout price due to performance components
In addition to the campaign price, growers receive performance components such as premiums for starch content, delivery time, quality and full delivery of the A volume. A comparison of the payout price ex-company shows that it is approximately 20% higher than last year.
Growth in line with ambition
Recent years have shown a clear increase in both the basic price and the campaign price. In the 2020 cultivation year, the campaign price was still EUR 72.50 (USD 81.5) per tonne, while in 2024 it will have risen to EUR 115 (USD 129) per tonne. This development reflects Avebe's commitment to increasing the earning capacity of its members.
Payment of cooperative result in December
After the annual meeting with the members' council on 9 December 2025, a payment will be made from the cooperative result. This depends on the financial year result that Avebe will close on 31 July 2025.
Preview of campaign 2025
The planting season started early this year. In both the Netherlands and Germany, almost all potatoes have been planted, about two to three weeks earlier than last year.
There is more interest in starch potatoes in the cultivation plan than last year. This increase underlines Avebe's steady growth and fits in well with the ambition to expand further in the market.
With the Strengthen and Accelerate strategy, the cooperative focuses on strengthening its market position and increasing the distinctive, added value of potato starch and potato protein. In doing so, Avebe is working specifically on accelerating the earning capacity of its members.
