Saratoga Potato Chips Recalls J. HIGGS Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Chips Due to Undeclared Soy Allergen

Saratoga Potato Chips, LLC, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, has issued a voluntary recall of specific lots of J. HIGGS Loaded Bacon and Cheddar Potato Chips due to the possible presence of undeclared soy, a major food allergen.

The recall affects consumers with soy allergies or severe sensitivities, who could experience serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the affected products.

Recall Affects Two Best-By Dates

The recall involves 7.75-ounce packages of J. HIGGS Loaded Bacon and Cheddar Potato Chips with UPC code 0-51933-31645-4. The affected bags are marked 'Best if used by Dec. 11, 2026' or 'Best if used by Dec. 18, 2026' in the top right corner. 

The recalled products were distributed in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee and Maryland, where they were sold at Save A Lot stores.

Consumers Urged to Return Products

The company initiated the recall on September 15, 2025, following an internal review. No illnesses or injuries have been reported in connection with the issue.

Consumers who purchased the affected chips are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
