Company Description

Snack manufacturer Shearer’s employs approximately 900 associates in nine locations including four manufacturing plants (OH, TX) and five distribution facilities.

Shearer's Foods offers a range of branded and private label snack foods including a complete line of potato chips, tortilla chips, pretzels, cheese curls/puffs, peanuts, popcorn, corn chips and other snacks, which are distributed throughout the Midwest, New England and parts of Canada. Shearer’s has received numerous honors and awards from industry associations and customers.

Shearer's Foods was established in 1974. In January 2008, Shearer's Foods was acquired by private equity firm Mistral Equity Partners.

In 2010 Shearer's Foods acquired the Snack Alliance.

in October 2012, Shearer's foods was acquired by private equity investment company Wind Point Partners.

In 2022 Shearer's stopped producing Shearer's branded potato chips and increased their focus on private label products.

All employees laid off after fire guts Oregon potato chip plant
Two weeks after a fire severely damaged a plant that produced chips and salty snacks in northeast Oregon the company says it will lay off all of the site’s employees.
