Kettle Brand launches Tater Tracker™, an interactive platform that lets consumers trace the potatoes in their chips back to the farm of origin, meet the farmers behind the harvest, and learn about the sustainable and regenerative farming practices used to grow them.
Kettle Brand Launches Tater Tracker to Trace Potatoes to the Farm and Highlight Regenerative Farming
Consumers can now discover exactly where the potatoes in their bag of Kettle Brand chips were grown, meet the farmers behind the crop, and learn about the sustainable farming practices used to produce them through the company’s innovative Tater Tracker™ initiative.
The interactive platform allows customers to enter a unique code printed on their bag of chips and trace their potatoes back to the specific farm of origin. Once the code is entered, users can explore farmer profiles, learn about their agricultural practices, and gain a deeper understanding of the journey from field to snack.
According to Kettle Brand, the program was created to celebrate the farmers who grow the potatoes used in its thick, kettle-cooked chips while also highlighting the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship and agricultural transparency.
Featured Growers Showcase Regenerative Farming Practices
The Tater Tracker platform features numerous potato-growing partners, including farms such as:
- Allied Potato Northwest
- CSS Farms
- Dos Aggies
- Sackett Potatoes
- Walther Farms
Many of these growers participate in Kettle Brand’s corporate sustainable agriculture program and have adopted regenerative farming practices designed to improve soil health, conserve water, and enhance biodiversity. These initiatives include planting cover crops, maintaining pollinator habitats, using soil moisture sensors to optimize irrigation, practicing edge-of-field management to reduce runoff, and trialing technologies that improve nitrogen-use efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Transparency Initiative Highlights the Future of Sustainable Potato Production
Kettle Brand is also a member of the Potato Sustainability Alliance, an industry collaboration focused on advancing sustainability across the potato value chain, including soil health, water stewardship, biodiversity, and community leadership.
The Tater Tracker initiative reflects a growing consumer demand for food traceability and transparency, giving snack lovers a rare opportunity to connect directly with the people and practices behind their favorite chips while showcasing how regenerative agriculture is shaping the future of potato production.
