October 27, 2010
INTERPOM | PRIMEURS, the international trade fair for the potato, fruit and vegetable sector, will be held in Kortrijk Xpo, Belgium, on 28, 29 and 30 November 2010.

The event is famous as the most complete information and contact platform for the whole sector, from growers right through to processors.

With 3 weeks to go before the event opens, registrations have already smashed the last record of 220 exhibitors on 26 500m2 in 5 exhibition halls.

This makes INTERPOM | PRIMEURS 2010 the top European event of the year, with a complete, top quality range of exhibitors and exhibits covering all aspects of the business for growers, contractors, processors, packers, buyers and traders of potatoes, fruit and vegetables.

Edition 2010: with 220 exhibitors on 26 500m² the biggest event ever

The number of exhibitors at INTERPOM | PRIMEURS has grown steadily over the years, and this year is no exception, with 18% more exhibitors and a 18% larger exhibition area compared with 2008. To date, exhibitors from 9 different countries have registered to take part and virtually all stands available have been booked. The quality and clear focus of the event, the unfailing attendance of a large number of professionals from the sector, and the strong growth of the Belgian potato processing industry are no doubt significant factors in the success of our event.

This year, the Belgian potato processing industry is set to pass the magic peak of 3 million tonnes of potatoes processed into pre-fried chips, mashed potato products, crisps, flakes and granules. This means that Belgium will join the Netherlands and Germany in the select group of countries that process over 3 million tonnes of potatoes annually. Of these three, Belgium also shows the strongest growth, certainly in the worldwide export of potato products.
