Quex Foods planning launch of 'Kent Crisps'
February 23, 2011

Quex Foods, at Quex Park in Birchington (United Kingdom), is about to launch Kent Crisps, which will be made from potatoes grown on the Quex estate and nearby farms.

So far three flavours are planned – Sea Salt, Oyster and Vinegar, and Ashmore Cheese and Onion, while the packaging will feature images of the Kent coast and an oast house.

The crisp packets promise no artificial flavours or colours and have the backing of Produced in Kent, which promotes food and drink produced in the county.

Promotional posters being planned include the slogans: "Crisps of Kent or Kentish Crisps?"and "Pride of Kent"

The crisps are the brainchild of Quex's estate boss Anthony Curwen, who has been responsible for the estate's gradual transformation from a vegetable farm into a complex that hosts a museum, children's indoor activity centre and farm shop.
