Advancing Iraq's Agricultural Value Chain: Beirut Erbil Company Hosts Event with EU Commission Representation
Under the umbrella of the Strengthening the Agriculture and Agri-food Value Chain and Improving Trade Policy in Iraq (SAAVI ) and Under the auspices of the Commission of the European Union and in the presence of Ms. Barbara Egger, Chairperson of the Cooperation Committee of the European Commission in Iraq.

Beirut Erbil Company was honored to host one of the most important events related to the development of agriculture in Iraq.
During the event, a welcoming speech was delivered by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Beirut Erbil Company, the Chair of the Cooperation Committee of the European Commission in Iraq and the Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
This was followed by an introductory tour in the company to see the reality of the workflow and the stages it goes through until reaching the final product, starting from receiving the potatoes, the tests in the company's laboratory, and how to store them in cold stores.
In addition to a tour inside the factory to see the stages of manufacturing potato chips. At the end, a lecture was presented on the basic differences between the industrial potato crop and the consumer potato crop, and how to deal with each crop during the cultivation period, with the aim of developing work to serve farmers.
Through this event, the attendees recognized the most important standards of product quality and ideal specifications for the refrigerated storage process by looking at the latest refrigerated warehouse in Iraq.
The Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Mr. Jaco Beerends also praised the Dutch footprint in the laboratory Ms. Barbara Egger, Chairperson of the Cooperation Committee of the European Commission in Iraq,emphasized the importance of having such projects that support the economy in Iraq and the region.
