ChainCraft and Innovad Partner to Deliver Sustainable, Circular Solutions in Animal Nutrition

ChainCraft, a specialist in sustainable chemicals from food waste, has entered into an exclusive partnership with Innovad Group, an international player in animal health and nutrition. The agreement focuses on the supply of butyric acid, which is used in feed supplements. Through this collaboration, Innovad gains access to high-quality fatty acids from ChainCraft, enabling the company to develop innovative, low-carbon products that contribute to healthy gut function in animals and a more sustainable food system.

The collaboration brings together two forward-thinking parties with a strong focus on sustainability and innovation. ChainCraft produces fatty acids from organic residual streams using advanced fermentation technology. These fatty acids offer a sustainable alternative to raw materials based on fossil energy or palm oil. Innovad, based in Belgium, develops natural and scientifically supported animal nutrition solutions that improve animal health and performance while simultaneously reducing the environmental impact of livestock farming.

While ChainCraft can handle a wide range of feedstocks from food and agriculture, it aims to build its first full-scale plant in the Netherlands next to a starch potato processing plant. While the main ingredients such as starch and protein find their use in a wide range of products, ChainCraft will use the residual potato juice as the feedstock to produce circular fatty acids. By doing that, even more value is extracted from the potato.
