De aardappelverwerkende industrie heeft in december 268.500 ton aardappelen verwerkt. Dat blijkt uit voorlopige gegevens van het Potato Info Centre van de Nederlandse Aardappel Organisatie.
Dat is 19.300 ton minder dan in december vorig jaar. Ten opzichte van november is het 20.000 ton minder. De verwerkte hoeveelheid leverde 104.500 ton frites en andere voorgebakken producten op en ook nog eens 37.200 ton overige aardappelproducten.
Het verwerkte volume is ten opzichte van december 2010 iets meer gedaald dan de opbrengst van voorgebakken producten. Daaruit komt de wat gunstiger kwaliteit van de aardappelen naar voren wat betreft formaat. In de ’overige’ producten is vorig jaar de opbrengst juist iets beter geweest.
