De Nederlandse aardappelverwerkers draaien al vroeg in het seizoen op volle toeren. Volgens de laatste cijfers van het Potato Info Centre toegankelijk via de website van de Nederlandse Aardappel Organisatie (NAO) werd in augustus maar liefst 338.500 ton aardappelen verwerkt tot consumptieprodukten.
In augustus vindt echter een correctie plaats voor verwerkers die cijfers per 4 weken publiceren in plaats van per maand. Volgens de website aardappelinfo.nl bedraagt deze correctie dit jaar 54.000 ton, wat de aan augustus toe te rekenen verwerkte hoeveelheid brengt op 291.000 ton.
Dit is nog steeds een hoeveelheid die fors hoger ligt dan de hoeveelheid aardappelen verwerkt in augustus in de laatste tien jaar. Zo werd vorig jaar augustus (na correctie) 257.000 ton verwerkt.
Er werd dus in augustus ruim 13 % meer aardappelen verwerkt dan vorig jaar.

Aviko Advances Factory Electrification with E-Boiler Installation in Lomm Supporting Net Zero Goals
