Dutch Potato Industry establishes Holland Innovative Potato (HIP) for major investment in research
Ten Dutch potato (processing) companies and two associations have established Holland Innovative Potato (HIP) to facilitate and coordinate joint pre-competitive research activities. A budget of € 4.5 million is available for the first research program of HIP.

Processing Equipment manufacturer Bühler celebrated the ground breaking for its Innovation Campus in Uzwil, Switzerland. Completion of the building is expected for the first quarter of 2019.

The FAO Food Price Index (FFPI) averaged 176.6 points in August 2017, down 2.3 points (1.3 percent) from July, but still 10 points (6 percent) above its value a year earlier. The August decline reflected generally lower values for cereals, sugar and meat, which more than compensated for increases in the Vegetable Oil and Dairy Indices.
