ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston® will celebrate the grand opening of its new sweet potato processing plant in northeastern Louisiana with Get Sweet. Our Treat. in Shreveport, La. On Nov. 3, individuals who bring a non-perishable food item to the Louisiana State Fair will receive a coupon for a free serving of sweet potato fries. All collected food items will be donated to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana. Lamb Weston and the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana will be collecting the food items at the fair entrance and coupons can be redeemed at one of several Louisiana State Fair vendors.
“Get Sweet. Our Treat. marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for Lamb Weston in Louisiana,” said Director of Marketing ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston Helene Clark. “We are thrilled to give our support to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana and encourage everyone to bring a food item to the fair and enjoy our sweet potato fries.”
The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana is the largest distributor of donated food for the seven parish area of northwest Louisiana and one of only five food banks in the state. The organization provides food to more than 100 non-profit partner agencies who distribute the food to needy individuals free of charge.

Our Treat. and welcome ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston as our newest corporate partner,” said Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana Director of Development Amie Roberts. “We need businesses throughout our service area to help us in our mission to fight hunger in northwest Louisiana. We hope everyone will bring a non-perishable food donation to the State Fair on Nov. 3rd and help us serve those in need.”
Lamb Weston’s state-of-the-art facility in Delhi, La., will process high quality sweet potatoes in the heart of prime sweet potato growing regions, and will allow Lamb Weston to continue to grow its leadership position as a provider of quality sweet potato products to foodservice operators and retailers around the world.
