Amy Burdett Joins US Potato Board as Marketing Operations Director

The United States Potato Board (USPB) is pleased to announce Amy Burdett has joined its staff as Marketing Operations Director in the Denver office.

She started her new role in the USPB Marketing Department July 28, 2014.

Burdett spent the last 16 years creating economic opportunity for U.S. farmers and ranchers at the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), the international trade agency of USDA. Her areas of trade expertise at USDA included Asia bilateral and regional affairs, trade policy development and enforcement, as well as global commodity analysis. In May 2014, she earned the FAS Administrator’s Honor Award for Excellence in Leadership and Management.

Burdett grew up in Boerne, TX, a rural suburb of San Antonio. She has traveled to over 30 countries, lived for short periods in four European capital cities, and worked in two U.S. Embassies on details.

Burdett received a Master’s Degree in International Economics from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University, Washington D.C. and her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Political Science from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.

Burdett will focus on market access issues at the USPB, for all potatoes and products, managing the seed potato export program and overseeing the application for and management of the export promotion funds obtained from FAS.
