McDonald's tests Shakin' Flavor Fries in Greater Philadelphia Region

August 05, 2014
McDonald's restaurants throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region were selected as a test market to unveil an exciting, limited time, menu item beginning August 4.

Shakin' Flavor Fries allow guests to customize McDonald's World Famous Fries with one of three delicious seasoning flavors: Garlic Parmesan, Spicy Buffalo or Zesty Ranch. Each bold new flavor offers customers a chance to enhance the already great taste of McDonald's Fries.

Upon ordering Shakin' Flavor Fries, guests will receive an additional bag and seasoning packet of their chosen flavor. Customers can then tear open the packet, pour into the bag as much or as little seasoning as desired and shake up the flavor for a fun and interactive taste experience.

"Our customers love our classic French Fries, so we are excited to offer them the option to fully customize this classic with the seasoning of their choice," said John Durante, President, McDonald's Restaurants of the Greater Philadelphia Region Owner/Operator Association.

The menu item came from popular seasoned Fries in Asia known as Shake Shake, which first debuted in 2005 in Hong Kong before spreading into other countries including China, India and Australia.

"This has been such a huge hit in the Asian markets and we have no doubt our customers, throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region, will love the variety of flavors," said Durante.

Fans are encouraged to share their excitement over Shakin' Flavor Fries via social media by following @McDPhilly on Twitter and Instagram and post photos and videos as they enjoy their flavors. Guests throughout the region will also have a chance to win prizes through a variety of contests hosted on Twitter by tweeting using #ShakinPhilly.
