McCain Foods USA outstanding energy efficiency partner, says Idaho Power
June 15, 2015

McCain Foods USA was recognized by Idaho Power for its commitment to operational excellence through energy efficiency.

Projects at the company’s Burley food processing plant earned more than $1 million in incentives from the utility’s Custom Efficiency Program this year. Including substantial incentives earned prior to this year, the total result in energy savings represents enough power to serve about 1,900 homes — more than the number of homes in the community of Shoshone, Idaho.

Bo Hanchey, Idaho Power Regional Manager:

“McCain Foods has been an outstanding energy efficiency partner over the years.

By investing in energy efficiency and saving millions of kilowatt-hours, McCain Foods has helped Idaho Power maintain its commitment to providing reliable, responsible, fair-priced energy services.

We applaud their success and look forward to supporting their efforts in the future.”

Reliability Engineer Stace Campbell accepted the Excellence in Energy Efficiency Award on behalf of McCain Foods USA during a southeast Idaho economic development event sponsored by Idaho Power and the Department of Commerce, held in Chubbuck, Idaho. Among the attendees at the event were regional economic development professionals and board members, city and county economic development officials and chamber of commerce leadership.

Hanchey added:

“We are actively involved in economic development in the communities we serve

We have a lot to offer existing customers, like McCain Foods USA, as well as new businesses looking at coming to Idaho. We have lower rates than many states, energy efficiency programs to help businesses save money and experts to consult on energy issues.”
