Lamb Weston Advances 2033 Sustainability Goals with Major FY2025 Achievements in New Global Sustainability Report

Lamb Weston Holdings, Inc. recently released its latest Global Sustainability Report, highlighting significant progress made during fiscal year 2025 toward its long-term 2033 sustainability goals. The report outlines how sustainability initiatives are being integrated across the company’s global operations, supply chain, and business strategy. 

According to the report, Lamb Weston continued to strengthen its commitment to responsible business practices through its “Making Fries and Making Strides” approach, focusing on three key pillars: People, Food, and Planet. These areas guide the company’s efforts to support employees and communities, deliver safe and high-quality food products, and reduce environmental impacts across its value chain.

People: Enhancing Workplace Safety and Community Support

Lamb Weston reported notable achievements in employee well-being and community engagement during fiscal year 2025. The company achieved a more than 15% year-over-year reduction in recordable injury rates compared with fiscal year 2024, reflecting continued improvements in workplace safety. 

In addition, the company contributed more than $830,000 to community programs, including support for food banks and other initiatives benefiting local communities where Lamb Weston operates.

Food: Strengthening Food Safety and Quality Standards

Food safety and product quality remain central to Lamb Weston’s sustainability strategy. During fiscal year 2025, 99.5% of Tier 1 ingredient supplier facilities achieved Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification, demonstrating a strong commitment to maintaining rigorous food safety standards throughout the supply chain. 

The company also completed more than 230 audits, including internal assessments, third-party food safety reviews, quality inspections, and customer audits, ensuring continuous compliance and operational excellence.

Planet: Advancing Environmental Stewardship

Environmental performance improvements featured prominently in the report. Lamb Weston achieved a 6% reduction in freshwater use intensity compared with fiscal year 2024, supporting its efforts to conserve water resources across operations.

The company also reported that 85% of its primary packaging is recyclable, reusable, and/or compostable, contributing to packaging sustainability goals. Furthermore, 98% of waste generated was diverted from disposal, demonstrating continued progress toward waste reduction and circular economy objectives.
