Processing Equipment
Company Description

PPM Technologies operates as a global supplier of engineered equipment for the food processing industry, with a focus on conveying, frying, seasoning, coating, cooling, and material handling systems. Its solutions are widely used across multiple segments, including potato processing, snack foods, bakery, cereals, nuts, frozen fruits and vegetables, and plant-based products.

PPM Technologies offers solutions for important processing phases such as product transport, frying, and flavor application. Vibratory and belt conveyors, continuous fryers, oil application systems, and seasoning/coating equipment are all intended for consistent distribution and process control. The company's equipment is utilized for both fresh and processed potato applications, such as chips, extruded snacks, and prepared culinary items. The firm also provides integrated dry and wet ingredient handling solutions, such as slurry application systems that can precisely coat a wide range of food items. Its equipment range provides automated, scalable manufacturing lines that prioritize operational efficiency, cleanliness, and process uniformity.

History:
The company is US-based and headquartered in Newberg, Oregon. The company traces its origins back to 1892, when it was founded as the Allen Fruit Company, initially operating as a fruit processor. The company gradually evolved from food processing to equipment production, including a key change in the 1950s when it began making food processing apparatus, including its first commercial vibratory conveyor in 1958. During the late twentieth century, the corporation increased its technological skills and global presence. During the 1980s, it built worldwide manufacturing activities, including facilities in the United Kingdom, and expanded its product offerings to include conveying, seasoning, and thermal processing systems. In the 1990s, it expanded into ingredient systems and optical sorting applications, enhancing its position in integrated food processing solutions.

In 2000, the business was acquired by FMC Technologies, which supported further expansion and industrial development. In 2007, the firm changed its name to PPM Technologies and made key acquisitions such as Wright Machinery, which increased its capabilities in seasoning and coating systems for snack and food processing lines.

PPM's ownership changed again in 2019 when it was bought by Stonehenge Partners, followed by Duravant in 2023, incorporating it within a bigger portfolio of food processing and packaging solutions suppliers.
